Since I posted this here and on LinkedIn, I've got several messages saying that the fact that 75% of this was earned directly from clients/jobs I met/applied to on @contra surprised them and asked how I go about it. Here's what works for me, and I sincerely hope it works for you too: - Applying early to a job post (3-30mins) after the job is posted - Updating my Contra portfolio (aiming to always increase my discovery score) - Using Contra for payments/invoices - Staying active in the community (I'm trying 😂) - Applying with proof (showing or explaining what my work did for past clients similar to them). - Researching their company before applying to get the name of someone working there (it makes the application sound personal) With AI now, things are a bit different. The extra thing I do to add to the above-listed is experiment with AI and explain/show how I use it in my projects when applying to a job post. I also reach out to the founder outside of Contra (maybe LinkedIn, IG, or via email) if I'm over 90% sure I'm fit for the job. Don't spam - that's irritating. I reach out, informing them that I already applied on Contra and I'm reaching out (in the platform I reached out to) to build *familiarity* If I want to go the extra mile, I show them a concept of what I have in mind as a solution to the problem they presented. If it's a redesign, I redesign a section or a few screens (app) and send them. This is when I reach out outside Contra because I'm confident in the job role. So yeah, this is how I increase my chances and was able to get $37,500 from $50,000 directly from applying to jobs on @contra
